A month short of his 90th birthday Keith Phillips of Oakville, passed away peacefully with dignity and his family by his side, at OTMH.  Keith spent over 50 years as a family doctor, Chief Coroner for Halton County, Chief of Staff of OTMH and as Home Care advocate.  He was also very proud to be the medical director of the Canadian Open Golf tournament for many years.
Born in Shelburne, Ontario to Eleanor and Victor Phillips, Keith graduated from
Medical school at The University of Western Ontario in 1950.  Hamilton General Hospital was where he spent his interning years and where he met Joan while she was attending McMaster University. They married and settled in Oakville where they both became active in the hospital and community. Socially they were involved in curling at the MGCC and Keith played golf at the Oakville Golf Club as well as at Webhanet Golf Club in Kennebunk, Maine gathering more lifelong friends and partnerships. The Maine cottage was his Summer home and where his family and friends gather for much fun!

Keith will always be the loving father to Patty, Stephen (Cheryl), Lois Smith (Lawrence) and Kate and proud grandfather, "Bump", to his adoring grandchildren Mark (Katie), Lindsay and Stephen Blaxland, Ellen and Margot Phillips, Martha and Carter Smith, Brooke and Taylor Owen and "Great Bump" to Max and Georgie Blaxland.

Visitation and cremation has taken place. The family would like to celebrate Keith's life with friends on Friday May 2 (his 90th birthday) at the Oakville Golf Club, 1154 Sixth Line, Oakville at 11:00 am .
