Gertrude Lena Oakley (nee Hough)     It is with great sadness that the family of Rita (Gertrude) Oakley announce that she passed away in her sleep on Monday April 12, 2021 at the Oakville Trafalger Memorial Hospital in her 100 ^th year.  She was born in England, one of seven children and served during the war with  the RAF.  She was stationed in the Jersey Channel Islands and then transferred back to England were she met her future husband Jack  (RCAF).  She came to Canada in 1945 as a war bride.  Jack and Rita eventually settled in Oakville were they raised 3 daughters, Nancy(Rick), Debbie(Phil) and Pam(Dave).  She was a talented sewer, baker and knitter. Rita leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, as well as many relatives in England and Canada. Jack passed away in 2005 they had been married almost 61 years. Rita will be greatly missed.  A family service was held on April 17, 2021.
