IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Joseph
Sloan
October 16, 1937 – January 4, 2025
With sadness we announce the passing of George Joseph Sloan. He passed away on Jan 4th 2025 peacefully at the Post Inn Village in Oakville, Ontario.
He is survived by is wife Francis Diane Sloan (nee Chute) and his two daughters; Kristin Jeanne Sloan and Casey Margaret Karen Sloan.
George spent memorable early years in Orangeville at the Grove Lodge. During summers in high school he worked in the nickel mines at Falconbridge. He was a Big Brother to Paul Mauchlin and life long friends with the Mieczanic family. He spent over thirty years with the Ontario Government Protective Services in and around Queens Park in Toronto, first as a patrolman and later as a supervisor.
He married Diane in 1972 and they had two daughters, Kristin and Casey. He lived many of his years in Mississauga.
He took over the family cottage in Southampton after his Mother passed away, and spent much time in the area in the summers.
He was a feisty person and he loved a good practical joke, so you had best to keep your wits about you when spending time with him.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Post Inn Village for their care of George while he lived there.
