Obituary

On Wednesday May 6, 2009, in his 68th year due to complications following a stroke. Loving husband of Irene. Devoted father to sons Russ and Ian. Survived by all. Proud member of Halton Regional Police Service (retired); first beginning as a member of the Oakville Police Force in 1968. Thirty plus years dedicated to serving the Halton Community. George touched so many lives and was truly a lover of all that life had to offer. Simply a great, courageous, loving, thoughtful, inspiring human being. Unselfish in nature and a true man of his word, George always made the time to help others in need and was happy to do so. He never turned down the oppourtunity to tell a great story or share and experience from his rich life. So many wonderful experiences live on in the memories of those who had the pleasure of knowing George or working with him over his lengthy policing career. Speical thanks to all for the overwhelming support in loving memory of George Jeffers. Honourable mention goes out at this time to Burlington Fire Department and EMS, and Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital for your extraordinary effort and professionalism. Visitation at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 6-9 pm Thursday. Funeral service 11:00 am Friday May 15, 2009 in the Kopriva Taylor Chapel. Cremation to follow. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the Kopriva Taylor Reception Centre. Memorial contributions, if desired to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
