It is with heavy hearts that we announce that George Patrick Gilroy passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2016. Loving husband of Maisie, who left us in 2009. He will be greatly missed by his children Elizabeth and Michael, his sister Margaret, his grandchildren Gavin, Gemma and Gabe, his son-in-law Scott, daughter-in-law Rita, his relatives in Ireland and Australia and his many, many friends. He lived a long and full life here in Canada and across the pond, where he covered thousands of miles on one of his many bicycles – his favourite pastime. "When spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without a thought on anything but the ride you are taking." - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr 905-844-2600), Oakville from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2016 followed by a simple service in the Kopriva Taylor Chapel.
