Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we honour the memory of George L, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30th, at the age of 80. George was born on September 27, 1943, in Chile and lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication.

George was the devoted husband to Rosemarie (nee Esmond), his beloved wife. Together, they shared a beautiful life and raised three wonderful sons: George (Joanne), Jerry (Rhonda), and Michael (Tania Govia).  He was also a loving and attentive Papa to Paige, Zach, and Jenna, who brought immense joy and pride into his life, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, who adored him deeply. He was also a brother to Gigi and predeceased by his younger brother Roy.

Family and friends will remember George for his sharp intelligence and quick wit, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.  He enjoyed spending time with family the most but appreciated vintage cars and sports.

George's journey in life took him from his birthplace in Chile, to the United States for his studies, and eventually to Canada in 1973, where he settled with his beautiful wife and three sons. Throughout his life, he was known for his loving and caring nature. He enjoyed his wine and laughter immensely, often sharing his twisted sense of humour with those around him.

As we remember George, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and family. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

In accordance with his wishes, a private service for immediate family will be held at Kopriva Funeral Home in Oakville on Friday, June 7th.

Rest in peace. You will always be remembered with love and peace.
