Jerry ended his courageous battle with cancer peacefully at Ian Anderson House surrounded by the love of his family. God welcomed home his "good and faithful servant" who had a strong and genuine heart for family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his wife Barbara who cared for him with her tender hands of love. Dad will be missed by his children Randy Matters (Joanne), Kevin Matters (Michelle), Sandra Epping (Ron), Steven Elphick (Paula), Brad Elphick (Shelly), Diane Sealy (James), Barb Ferguson (Brian) and Nanci Stubbington (Scott). Much loved by his grandchildren Christopher, Jordan, Theresa (David), Kendra, Connor, Maggie, Melanie, Brett, Brooke, Joshua, Megan, and Trinity his great granddaughter who will carry on his legacy of hard work and excellence. He is survived by his brother Raymond Matters (Mary), sister Colette Stordy and sister- in-law Rita Matters of PEI.
Jerry has joined his wife Audrey, his brother Francis and son Richard in heaven. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ian Anderson House. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 181 Sewell Drive, Oakville at 11am on Friday September 7, 2012 with visitation from 10am. Cremation to follow.
