It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Fredric Bracken at the age of 84 on January 3, 2022.  Beloved husband of Dolores and loving father of Adrienne (John), Keith (Lisa) and Jennifer (David). He will be greatly missed by his four grandchildren, Patrick, Jocelyne, Daniel and Victoria; his sister Vivien (Ralph).  Fred was predeceased by his brother Daniel (Ruth) and his Mom and Dad, William and Rachael Bracken.

Fred was born in London, England and immigrated to Canada in May 1953.  Upon settling in Toronto, Ontario, he graduated from the University of Toronto and then became a Professional Engineer (Metallurgical). He began a career with Teck Resources Limited (Cominco) where he remained until his retirement in 2000.  His career took him on numerous trips throughout Europe, Asia, South America and Australia. He was also fortunate to take clients to remote locations such as Tasmania, Alaska, Nunavut and Greenland, fostering and maintaining long standing friendships.

Fred was married to Dolores for 59 years.  Over their years together they enjoyed watching their family grow and hosted many family celebrations and other social events. They also spent much time travelling together on personal trips. Fred was widely known for his sense of humour, love for his family, golf (especially the neighbourhood golf tournament and marshalling at Royal Ontario), the Maple Leafs and his dislike of carrots.

The family are forever grateful for the wonderful care he was given at Cooksville Care Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcome to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada or a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022 at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block East of Kerr Street) from 12pm - 3pm.
