Born in Selkirk, Scotland 1920
Longtime resident of Oakville, Veteran WWII, 2nd Canadian Infantry, Member of Oakville Legion #114 and more recently a member of Bronte Legion Branch #486. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the age of 89. Survived by his son Brent (Jo-Anne), his daughter Leigh Beesley (Larry), his granddaughter Brandy (Andrew), his grandson Liam and his great-grandson Jake. Predeceased by his wife Doris (Dot) Gunn, his brother John and sister Betty Gilbert (Don). Special thanks to Northridge Long Term Care and Palliative Staff on 4 East at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600), Oakville from 12 Noon on Thursday, January 21, 2010 with a Legion Service at 12:45 p.m. followed with a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family.
