It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Flora Martin at Northridge Long Term Care facility in Oakville on April 30, 2015. Flora was predeceased by her beloved husband Walter, her parents Jack and Louise Livingston and sisters Bella, Jackie and Elaine. She is survived by her brother Reg who lives in Ottawa. Flora was a loving and devoted mother to Linda, Janice and Ron, a loving and proud grandmother to Loren (Heather), Jennifer (Ryan), Kelly (Scott), Shaun (Greer), Erin (Chris) and Lara (Dave). Known affectionately as GG to her great grandchildren Madison, Avery, Courtney, Tyler, Emerson, Bennett and Maxim. She also held a special place in her heart for her niece Sharon (Gerry) and nephew Alex (Kathryn). Flora was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia August 7, 1930 and moved with her family to Ontario around 1943 although she never forgot her roots. She had a passion for politics and devoted much of her time over the years to volunteering with the Federal and Provincial Liberal parties. Through the years she made many wonderful friends who will remember her and her great spirit. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful nurses, caregivers and other staff at Northridge for their care and compassion. A memorial to celebrate Flora's life will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 11, 2015 at Walton Memorial United Church, 2489 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville.
