With hearts full of sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Flora Groff (née Black) on September 25, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Flora lived a life marked by spirit and adventure, cycling across the Scottish countryside, securing work in London, England and eventually venturing to Canada where she built a new life, and spent most of her career with the Toronto District School Board. She was a woman of many talents and interests - a lifelong knitter, crocheter, sewer, an avid reader and enthusiastic bridge player.

Above all, Flora was devoted to her family, who brought her endless joy. A woman of extraordinary strength and kindness, she always put others before herself. Her laughter lit up every room and her humour was effortlessly witty.

Flora was a devoted daughter and sister, a proud mother to Michelle (Craig) and Leigh (Chris), and a loving, playful grandmother to Nicole, Steven, Ben, Céline, and William.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff at Wyndham Manor in Oakville, Ontario, for their care and compassion.

A private family celebration of Flora's life will be held at a later date. Donations, if desired, may be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada in her memory.

Flora will remain in our hearts forever.
