After a courageous battle with cancer, Eveline passed away in her 82nd year on Monday, April 7, 2008. She was one classy lady. Born May 29, 1926 in Aberdeen, Scotland. Eve was stationed in Germany in 1946 and offered a promotion to Sergeant if she re-upped for another 5 years. However she had other plans. After her full honourable discharge, she returned to Aberdeen, Scotland. It was her dream and eventual wish to immigrate to Canada after the war. In 1948 she immigrated to this country with her mother (Ena), father (Norman) and sister (Norma). The other family members eventually returned to Scotland but this truly was the place Eve wanted to start her new life. She met and eventually married Alex Mutch on July 29, 1950 at Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville Ontario. She always had both a strong faith in God and association with the church. After a distinguished career, she eventually retired from the Bank of Montreal after working in Oakville, Hamilton and eventually the main branch in Toronto. She was active in the Rebekahs-Odd Fellows while living in Oakville and eventually had the honour of being the president of that organization. Eve and Alex lived on Devon Road for 35 years in their dream home. Eventually they moved to a condo on White Oaks Boulevard and then to the Del Manor Nursing Home. In May of 2007 they moved to St. Catharines to be nearer to their family. Eveline Catherine Mutch is survived by her husband of 58 years Alex, son Alan, daughter-in-law Debbie and the jewel of her eyes, grand-daughter Jessica. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville ( 1 block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn Street, Oakville on Thursday, April 10, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or the Canadian Cancer Society.
