It is with great sadness and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Eva Pernicky (nee Krupicova), on Sunday May 9, 2021 at the age of 76.  Predeceased by husband Miroslav. She will be forever lovingly remembered by her children: Richard (Lisa) and Andrea; grandchildren: Jessica and Jason; as well as many relatives, friends and neighbours.

After starting her career in nursing in the former Czechoslovakia, she immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1970, becoming a proud Canadian citizen in December 1975.  She was extremely passionate about living as a Canadian, for nature, landscapes, local artists, and winter activities.  After 16 dedicated years working for the V.O.N. (Acclaim Health), where she developed long lasting friendships and supported many members of the community, she happily enjoyed retirement.  She was also a voracious reader, amateur historian and loved classical music, gardening, animals and travelling.  Her family and friends will deeply miss her passion for life and the love and generosity that she gave to all those around her.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions a Celebration of Life will  take place at a later date, an update will be posted here.  For those who wish, donations in the memory of Eva to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
