With great sadness we announce the passing of Ethel Margaret Sayers (Steel) on Tuesday April 17, 2007 in her 73rd year. Ethel's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife to Cal for 50 years and mother to Lynn (Jeff McGuire), Gwen (Parker MacDonald), and Doug (Donna Sayers). Ethel was a dedicated and involved grandmother to Amy, Laura, Greg, Paul, Jennifer, Melissa, Blake and Luke. Dear sister to Ray Steel (Joanne) and the late Marsden Steel (Hetty). We will miss the love, integrity and generosity she gave to all her family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Gapski and the staff of the Trillium Oncology clinic, Dr. Hamrahi and the support staff of the CCAC. We are so grateful for all of the medical care and support that was given. To honour Ethel, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society by pledging one of the family members in the Relay for Life by accessing www.cancer.ca and going to the Ontario Relay for Life site and making a pledge to the Sayers, McGuire or MacDonald team or making a cash donation. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600), Oakville from 7-9pm on Thursday and 2-4 & 7-9 on Friday. A Service Celebrating the Life of Ethel will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Kopriva Taylor Chapel. Interment Stouffville Cemetery.
