ERNEST KENNETH MULLALLY
Ken passed away peacefully in Oakville, Ontario on January 2, 2022. Born January 24, 1940 in Croydon, England to Minnie & Cyril (Bob) Mullally. Predeceased by his parents, his brother Brian and his brothers-in-law John Dinka and Carl Dinka. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years Brigitta (Gitta), sisters-in-law Maureen Mullally, Patricia Dinka and Suzanne Dinka, 11 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews. He loved them all. Ken came to Canada in 1962 to visit his brother and family and never left. He worked for a few years at Ford of Canada before joining the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation where he worked for 30 years as a film editor, retiring in 1996. He was widely read, loved travelling and gardening and all the many family gatherings. He especially loved music and always participated, from early pop in England, where he was guitarist and vocalist in a couple of groups progressing to jazz and classical. In the last few years he learned to play the violin and was a happy member of the Oakville Fiddle Orchestra until peripheral neuropathy curtailed his playing. He stoically endured many health challenges finally succumbing to cancer. Ken was an adored member of his family who will miss his many endearing ways, especially his keen wit and sense of humour which buoyed us all.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the
Oakville Humane Society
or to a charity of your choice.
