Peacefully at the age of 91, Erika passed away at home on Wednesday March 12, 2025.  Loved wife of the late Werner (Vern) Gringmuth, Dear Mother of Robert (Barbara) and Roy (Karen) Dearest Oma to Beth, Christie (Dan), Vicky (Hoang), Jamie (Teo), Scott (Kandice), Katie (Josh) Great Oma to Logan, Kalev, Kaira, Keinan, Charles, Molly and Jack.

Erika and Vern arrived in Canada with their son Robert in 1958 from Rosenheim Germany - with Roy being born shortly thereafter.  They built a life in Oakville where they enjoyed many life-long and close friendships.

She was a respected and reliable employee for many years at Long Manufacturing in Oakville.

Erika was a wonderful homemaker, a talented seamstress, knitter and an amazing cook.  She hosted many memorable family dinners, evening parties and afternoon coffee and cake.  Many of her special recipes having been handed down and duplicated, will forever remind us of Oma.

Erika always looked her best, ensuring her wardrobe style was current, hair freshly-set, nails perfectly polished, perfume sweetly scented.

She enjoyed dabbling in watercolor, reading, gardening and travel to the Caribbean Islands.

She was strong and stoic after having been widowed in mid life, re-learning how to drive and putting to use her previously unused driver's license. She endured her late life illness with strength and dignity and lived her final years at Del Manor Glen Abbey retirement home where she enjoyed the company of her fellow residents and was well attended by the staff.

She is loved and will be fondly remembered.

Visitation will be held on Sunday March 30, 2025 at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville from 1pm - 4 pm.
