It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Erik Svendsen, on June 30th, 2023, at the age of 77 years.

The "Great Dane" was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was happiest when spending time with his family, especially at his cottage in Georgian Bay, Ontario.

Erik was also a highly respected and successful businessman, who over the course of nearly 40 years at the same company (Bohler-Uddeholm), progressed from an entry-level sales job, to managerial positions and ultimately president and CEO of North American operations. Erik was beloved by his colleagues, known as an authentic and compassionate leader who always fought for his people.

As much as he loved his work, Erik's first priority was always family.  He will be forever missed by his wife Annika (nee Nordblad) and their children Lill (Gavin) Wood and Deren (Diana) Svendsen.  Proud grandfather of 5 (Jackson, Erik Jr., Mackenzie, David and Dylan).

Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Funeral home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block East of Kerr Street) on Thursday, Aug 10th from 5 pm - 8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Georgian Bay Land Trust
