It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Erik Lassen, beloved brother of Christian Lassen, son of late Elver Lassen and Reine Corneau.   Erik will be missed by his family – aunts, uncles, cousins, former spouse, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a Godson, nephews, nieces - and many, many friends.  The Cirque du Soleil community is mourning his loss throughout the world.

Erik was a travelling soul who had a curiosity for all cultures and everything culinary.  His travels as Marine Mechanic on cargo ships and then as Touring Logistics Director for Cirque du Soleil had taken him around the globe 3 times and counting.  Erik loved sharing drinks and shenanigans with friends.  His story-telling techniques were second to none.  He played the devil's advocate in many conversations, constantly striving to help his friends understand each other's perspectives.

Erik will be fondly remembered for many things, particularly his carefully planned pranks.  His greatest pleasure was to bring pleasure to others through laughter and good times – and he was so successful at it.  He touched our hearts profoundly with his happy and generous spirit.

Nothing can take away the pain of losing him, but we can all be comforted knowing that he is smiling somewhere in the universe, watching over us with that mischievous twinkle in his eye.  One day when we meet again, there will be love and laughter…. Paired with pranks and practical jokes indeed.

Due to the pandemic and in keeping with his family's wishes, no funeral service will be held.  Erik's Facebook page will remain open and all are welcome to post memories and final words to him there.
