Elsie Margaret Turnbull (nee Wilhelm)

June 12 1941 – May 26, 2023

Mom died peacefully, just a few weeks before her 82nd birthday. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Debi (John) and Yvonne (Les); grandchildren Melissa, Kevin (Jenelle) and Nicole (Alyssa); and great-grandson Lincoln. Also mourning Super Nana are Josh, Jen, Jac and Jane. Mom's sister Anita is now the last of her generation, and there are many nieces and nephews who will miss their Aunt Elsie, along with some incredibly special friends who will be feeling the loss of Tante Elsie. Mom touched many over the years, and had many friendships that lasted decades.  Predeceased by her parents Gustav and Natalia (nee Ferchoff), and siblings Thelma, Erna, Frederick, Robert, Alec, Herman, Ben, and George, along with her dear sister-in-law Elsie.

Mom loved puttering in her garden, spending time with each of her grandchildren, working on puzzles, annual visits to Saskatchewan, and travelling with her sister-in-law Elsie on a cruise to Alaska, two trips to Europe, and a month-long stay in Florida one winter. They had many stories of "the two Elsies" during their travels. Mom also had a recent trip to Newfoundland to visit treasured friends, and was looking forward to making another.

We would like to thank Mom's doctors and nurses at the Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington for their care and compassion the last few weeks. Mom did not want a service of any kind, nor did she want a memorial, so we will honour her wishes. Mom will be cremated, and we will bring her back home to Saskatchewan when her family can all be together.
