After a short illness resulting from the degenerative effects of Freidreich's Ataxia, Elizabeth passed away peacefully on May 1, 2011 in the Palliative Care unit of St Michael's hospital in Toronto, in her 38th year, with family at her side. She was predeceased by her father Joseph and leaves behind her mother Patricia, sister Joy, brothers Steven, Chris and Tim & his wife Carmen. She will be sadly missed by her nephews Michael, Domenic, Alexandre, Jonathan & Nicholas as well as her nieces Emma & Erin and family friend Vince. Elizabeth was born in Oakville and attended Gladys Speers public school as well as Queen Elizabeth Park High School. She was diagnosed with Freidreich's Ataxia at the age of 12. Elizabeth was a loving, caring person whose generosity showed no boundaries. She was always willing to lend a hand when asked. Elizabeth loved her many and various pets over the years, always willing to take in a stray animal to give them a home. She looked forward to going on drives with family to visit her friends or just take in the scenery. Once her physical condition would not allow her to be as mobile, she found comfort in reading novels and watching movies. She had a unique sense of humour, and enjoyed making people laugh. A celebration of her life will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600), Oakville at 11am on Saturday, May 7, 2011. Many thanks to the exceptional staff and the care received by Elizabeth in both the 'Step-Up Unit' and the 'Palliative Care Unit' at St Michael's hospital. Donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to the March Of Dimes Foundation or St Michael's Hospital.
