Peacefully at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. Cherished wife for 63 years of Dr. Anthony Ross who predeceased Anne in 2015. Beloved mother of Michael, Monica, Angela, Helen, Rachel, Sarah and Matthew. Grannie Annie was the loved grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Born Elizabeth Anne Rodgers in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, England, she attended the University of Birmingham studying zoology. She began a teaching career in England and immigrated to Canada in 1966 settling in Oakville with her family. She joined St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School in Oakville and taught biology and science from 1975 until her retirement in 1994. A talented ballet dancer in her youth, Anne had a lifelong interest in dance and the arts. She was a keen gardener, frequently found in her beautiful gardens, digging, cutting and indeed directing at times. An indomitable spirit who touched many lives, she will be missed. A private burial will take place. A service to celebrate Anne's life and work will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds St., Oakville on Saturday, November 26th at 10:30 AM.
