Jamieson, Elizabeth "Betty"

Elizabeth "Betty" passed away suddenly but peacefully at her home in Oakville on Wednesday October 21, 2020 in her 88 ^th year.  Beloved mother of Eleanor Jamieson.

Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, John Jamieson and her younger brother, John McGregor.  She is survived by her younger sister Helen Taylor and her husband Jack, her brother-in-law William Jamieson and her sister-in-law Margaret McGregor.

Betty was born in Glasgow, Scotland, oldest daughter of John and Sarah McGregor; immigrating to Canada  over 60 years ago to join her husband, living in St. John, NB, Halifax, NS, Montreal, PQ and finally settling in Oakville.

Betty worked with Eaton's for 25 years in various credit and buying positions and when she retired, she enjoyed volunteering for the VON and the Canadian Cancer Society, where she will be sorely missed for always putting the needs of others above her own.

My mother lived an accomplished and vital life, despite a life altering bout  with cancer.  As with everything she faced, she handled with grace, enduring strength and an endless sense of humour.

Due to COVID, a private family interment service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
