It is with profound sadness and much love that the family of Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Dalgleish announce her peaceful passing on March 28 ^th , 2022 at the age of 87 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Jim; son John and daughter Susan (Chris); and grandchildren Alexander, Oscar and Hannah.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her siblings Pamela, Tony and Freida; and her parents William John Raatgever, CBE and Gwendolyn Dorothy Raatgever.

Elizabeth came to Canada from British Guiana in 1955 on a holiday.  She fell in love with Montreal, and chose to stay, working at Bell Canada while studying to become a teacher.  She and Jim met at the Presbyterian Church, later moving to Oakville in 1971 to accommodate Jim's career with Royal Bank.

She was active in the community as the national president of the Canadian Housewives Register and as a convener for the Oakville Soccer Club.  At Knox Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth was a member of the Chancel Guild and taught Sunday School.  She later embarked on a new career as an investment advisor and real estate investor.  Elizabeth took great joy in her children and grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville on Sunday, April 3, 2022, between the hours of 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville.  Interment at Palermo Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
