With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Elena Barrington, who went peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022 at St Joseph's Hospital in Toronto.  Elena was a great friend to so many.  She is survived by her son, Douglas Barrington (Martine Farrow), Tony DeCarlo, her brother Douglas Galgano, The Barrington Family; Barri, Dick, Bill, Skip, Barry, Peggy, plus so many dear friends whom she cherished.

She was a 5-year survivor of pancreatic cancer.

Elena was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  With her loving husband, Charles Barrington Jr (passed 1985) and son, Douglas Barrington, they moved to Oakville, Ontario, Canada in 1975.

While saddened by the loss of this amazing woman, family and friends are comforted by the long and happy life that Elena enjoyed, and the love and friendship she gave so generously. Elena was a kind soul, who will live on in the hearts of everyone she met.

The family would like to thank staff at St Joseph's for the thoughtful and dedicated care given by the oncology and palliative care teams. A private cremation was held at Kopriva Taylor in Oakville.

A private memorial and celebration of her life is being planned for friends and family, this Spring.
