"Our Family Chain is Broken & Nothing Seems The Same,
But As God Calls Us One By One The Chain Will Link Again."
- Ron Tramner
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our beautiful Eleanor Zambosco (nee Paterson) peacefully entered into eternal rest with Our Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. To say our family has lost a very special lady and that our lives are forever changed is an understatement. Eleanor was stunningly beautiful inside and out. Class, charm, kind, wonderful, elegant, natural grace, strength, courage, loving, those are just a few of the sentiments that have been shared since her passing.
Eleanor will be lovingly and forever remembered by her husband Enzo, cherished by her son Lance and her many extended family members and friends. She meant so much to so many and she was loved immensely.
Enzo and Eleanor's love story began in 1965 and they were married on June 1, 1974. They were inseparable. You rarely saw them apart, it was always Enzo and Eleanor, Eleanor and Enzo, and more recently known to the family as E&E.
Anticipating the birth of their beloved son Lance in 1975, Eleanor retired from her career as an interior decorator with Swiss Interiors in Oakville and devoted herself to her family who she loved fiercely and protected at all costs.
Eleanor had a special gift and vision for colours, fabrics, furnishings and everything and anything creative. She quickly became her large extended family's in-house designer, decorator and wedding planner. She found such delight in being part of every occasion.
Eleanor loved being with family, whether it was enjoying a simple meal or creating a culinary masterpiece, a passegiatta through the streets of Monteborre and Dernice in Italy that she loved so much, strolling along the beach at their condo in Florida, power shopping with her ladies on Spadina Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West, she found immense pleasure in all of it. She loved to laugh, to dance, loved music, a party and good times. She loved animals big and small and cared for many of them. These wonderful memories and reminiscing about those special times are what will see us through this immeasurable loss.
Over the years, she dealt with serious health challenges that would have taken many of us out. Not our Eleanor, not a chance! She carried on with much strength, determination, dignity, courage and grace. We have learned many lessons from her life and she will be with us in spirit forever, never to be forgotten.
A special thank you to Dr. Cynthia Blair for years of amazing care.
Private family arrangements were entrusted to Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home. Eleanor is resting at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery.
As COVID-19 restrictions made it impossible for all to gather, feel free to take a moment to share a story or offer a condolence to the family on the virtual guestbook.
A Celebration of Life will be held when it is safe to do so.
