Elaine Easton (nee Miehm) of Mississauga, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at the age of 76 on May 8th, 2012. Loving and loved wife of John for the past 55 years. Cherished mother of Cathy, Susan (John), Robert, Margaret (Mark). Proud grandmother of Adam, Courtney, and Emma. Predeceased by her daughter Jennifer and her brother George Miehm, who is survived by his wife Noreen, their children, and grandchildren. Will be sadly missed by her brother-in-law and his wife, Guy and Isobel Easton, their children, and grandchildren. Elaine was born in Kitchener, Ontario in 1935. Elaine and John were married in July 1957; the next years proved to be very busy as they raised 4 children and moved across Canada in support of John's career, ultimately settling in Mississauga in 1971. Special thanks to the staff at OTMH for all their care and kindness. Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville (1 block east of Kerr St., 905 844-2600) from 7-9pm Thursday with a service celebrating Elaine's life on Friday, May 11, 2012 in the Kopriva Taylor Chapel at 11am. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society.
