Peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2009 at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in his 93rd year. Beloved husband for 67 years of the late Gladys May Cross (nee Yetman). Loving Father of Diane (Jim), Joan and Jim (Beth). Caring Grandad of Wes, Tyler, Stephen and Sandra. A fulfilled life included 40 years as a purchasing agent and comptroller with Westeel and Domglass in Montreal and Oakville. Ed was grateful for a long life and considered himself blessed with the friendship of many wonderful people from Community Living Oakville, St. Paul's United Church, Colbourne Centennial Center, and the Vistamere Retirement Center. He was enthusiastically involved in many sports activities most especially golf and in his earlier years in Pointe Claire Quebec coaching minor hockey and playing Old Timers Hockey. Also while residing in Quebec he was very actively involved for many years in the Provincial Association for mentally challenged children. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600), Oakville, Ontario on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kopriva Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations to Community Living Oakville would be gratefully appreciated.
