In Loving Memory
Edward Gerald Sikora
Born in Melville, Saskatchewan, July 10, 1942 to parents Stanley and Katie Sikora.
Loving brother to sisters Violet, Antoinette, Adeline, Arlene, Darlene and brother Stanley.
Father to Greg Sikora born 1969.
Died February 10, 2022 at 79 years of age.
Ed spent his early years working on the family farm in Saskatchewan. After finishing high school he moved to Toronto at the young age of 18 where he worked hard to become a Skilled Tradesman. He first worked for the Maxwell Plumbing Co. eventually joining WA Stephenson Mechanical Contractors LTD. where he worked for the remainder of his career managing the construction of water treatment and wastewater plants in several communities across Ontario. He retired from the Trade in 2004. Never one to be able to just "sit around", he stayed busy during his retirement driving a school bus and working a few summers at the Glen Abbey Golf club.
Ed's favorite pastime was spending time at the cottage with his beloved dog Kali. He also often returned to Saskatchewan to visit family and help on his brother's farm during the harvest season. His awesome ability to fix and build just about anything without using "the instructions" was truly an amazing talent to behold.
He was a very kind, generous, and caring person, but could also be tough and no nonsense when he felt it necessary. He had a great sense of humour and was always quick with a one liner. "Big Ed" was always eager to share a laugh with Greg's friends whenever he got the chance.
You will be Greatly Missed but Never Forgotten. Rest in Peace Pops.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 17, 2022 at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block East of Kerr Street) from 7 - 9 pm.
