Peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in his 86th year at his home in Oakville, surrounded by family. Ed, beloved husband and best friend of Mamie for almost 64 years. Devoted, caring Dad to Marilyn Teague (Alec), Irenee McGovern (Colin), Jeff (Lee-Ann), Steve (Julie) and much loved Grandpa to Melissa Regehr (Doug), Jennifer Nyman (Fred), Shannon, Kristina and Erin McGovern, Matthew and Jacob Hand and Charlotte Hand. Fun-loving Great- Grandpa to Hannah, Gideon, Naomi, Kyrie Regehr and Zoe and Anneliese Nyman. Predeceased by his 12 siblings. A service will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr 905-844-2600) Oakville, on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1pm with visitation one hour prior. Special thanks for the excellent care received from Dr. Khan, Dr. Mayers, Linda McAllister, Glenann Vincent and the C.C.A.C. staff. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
