Edward JOHN Flippance

November 20, 1924 – February 22, 2019

In his sleep, John passed away peacefully at The Post Inn, in his 95 ^th year. John was an amazing man who touched many hearts through his love of music and passion for life. He leaves behind his wife Joan (Baldwin) of 73 years, his sons Glen and wife Sonja and Brian and wife Nancy; Grandchildren Vaughn (Celeste), Joshua, Mark (Yvonne), Ryan (Leah), Vanessa (Chris), and Matthew (Carrie); Great-grandchildren: Tyler, Paige, Travis, Skylar, Aidan, Olivia, Ben, Colin, Daniel, Jack, Lydia, Jake, William and Elise.

John was born in England and after marrying Joan, they brought their family to Canada in 1952. They eventually settled in Oakville and established "Flippance and Carr" (1963 – 1985) which proudly continues to carry the name. Over the years, he was an active member of the Oakville Club, appearing in many cabaret productions where he shared his talent for song and dance. John was a friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand or words of encouragement to neighbors and friends. He often spoke of his experiences during World War II, the AVRO Aero and years of sales and service excellence within the community.

John attended St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church, 1541 Oakhill Dr, Oakville, ON L6J 1Y6, where his funeral will be held on Thursday, February 28 ^th at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 27 ^th at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road W.(one block East of Kerr), from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Cuthbert's Anglican Church or the Alzheimer Society may be made.
