Ed was born in the seaside town of Margate, Kent, England in 1937. He served in the Royal Air Force during the 1950's, and eventually went on to become a Professional Engineer. As such, Ed spent many years in the aircraft industry, working for British Aircraft Corporation (British Aerospace) primarily on the design of the Concorde. Upon emigrating with his family to Canada in the early 1970's, Ed worked for de Havilland Canada on the Dash 7. He eventually moved to Ontario Hydro (OPG) where he worked for many years in the Nuclear Generation Division. After retirement, Ed was an avid glider pilot and motor racing fan. He also served as an active participant in a local UK social club. He leaves behind his wife Diana, son Mark and daughter Sarah.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m.
