Surrounded by the loving family, Earl passed away peacefully on February 13, 2020, two months prior to his 90 th birthday. Beloved husband of Margaret for 67 years. Adored and dearly missed by his five children, Debra (George Catena), Diane (Rob Chick), Denise (Craig Horseman), Darlene (Srecko Polich) and Paul, his eleven grandchildren, Shawn (Marissa) and Michael Catena, Genevieve, Amy (Chris Hepburn) and Owen Chick, Timothy (Kim) and Dayna (Shaun Zuidema) Horseman, and Thomas, Natalie, Steven and Emma Polich, and nine great grandchildren, Baxter, Baron, Gia, Isla, Lucas, Tyler, Olivia, Sophia and Charlotte. Predeceased by his dear brothers, Bob and Bill and missed by his sister, Betty. Earl had a wonderful career at Inglis Limited for 40 years and retired in 1990.
Earl will be missed by all who knew him. His smile always lit up a room. He was a true and kind gentleman, whose memory will live on through his absolute love of life. Earl will be remembered for his love of music, love of gardening and love of the outdoors.
Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville, L6K 1E1 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday February 20, 2020. A service of celebration of Earl's life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 1382 Ontario St, Burlington, ON L7S 1G1, with a reception to follow immediately after the service in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Cremation. His life was well-lived and well-loved. Although our hearts are heavy, we celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us.
