IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dragica
Gladanac
November 25, 1948 – April 5, 2024
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Selfless, gentle, kind and without much pomp and fair, a guide to many on how to live a decent life. She gave far more than she ever took in this life. Her legacy will continue to guide us all as she ascends to her rightful place in Heaven.
A wife and loyal partner to Boro for 51 years. The two opposites, yet a perfect pair. Not many can say that they witnessed an argument between them. She was not to be drawn into such things, maybe because she perfected 'the look' she gave him that told a thousand words (we loved and laughed at 'the look' and its power).
A Mother who insisted for her sons Aleksandar & Nikola to be 'good people'. She wasn't much for sit down lessons and imparting knowledge in traditional way. Her way was to let us 'report' on accomplishment and mistakes, and she would simply smile and say 'bravo' when we showed integrity, grace and character (then she would ask us if we were hungry). We just wanted to make her proud, and be 'good people', plus the food was an amazing motivator too.
A grandmother with the sweetest hugs. She loved sending the grandkids Maksim and Tea into her room to play, and secretly handing them treats and chocolates. We would always find the chocolate wrappers after it was all done. Some of us smiled, some of us complained about cavities…she paid no mind to either. She was just looking for the smiles of her grandkids.
Far more can be written of the time she graced this Earth, but she probably wouldn't be fond of the attention. Instead, and as it has been done so far, we will honor her life by doing our best to be 'good people'. We love you and miss you more than words can describe.
