On Monday October 28, 2013 at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Douglas in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Phyllis for 60 years. Dear father of Brenda and her husband Tory, Joanne and her late husband John, Brian and his wife Cathy, Debbie and her husband Peter and Cheryl and her husband Paul. Cherished grandfather of Michael (Danielle), Johnny (Stephanie), Nicole (Shawn), Cari (Marco), Geoff (Vanessa), Andrea (Brodie), Chantelle (Matt), Cortney, Christopher, Chelsea, Michelle (Jeff), Connor, Lindsay, Jack and the late Megan. Loving great-grandfather of Sam, Riley, Nikko, Tyler, Michael, Charley, Alex, Mason and Aleesha. Brother to Robert Piers (Lorraine), Joyce Curran (Tom), Ronald Piers (Jackie). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Douglas had a beautiful life and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Visitation will take place at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Friday. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013, in the Kopriva Taylor Chapel. Interment Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery.
