Doug passed away peacefully on Friday January 22, 2021 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Loving husband of 43 years to Anne (nee McNamara), loving and proud father of Matthew. Dear brother in law to Stephen (Wendy), John (Rosalind), Mary (Rocky) and Kathy.  Uncle to Dan (Tara), Kelly (Yannick), Marc, Joe, Kade and Graham. Great Uncle to Avery, Sophia, Tommy, Daley and Isiah. Fondly remembered by many cousins and friends.

He is predeceased by his mother Vilma (nee Giavedoni) and his father Frank.

Many will remember Doug for his quick wit, humour, and loving devotion to family. He was an enthusiastic hockey dad, an avid Hamilton Tiger Cats fan and Montreal Canadiens supporter – never shy to remind Leafs fans of their comparative achievements.  Doug enjoyed music, reading, trivia and staying current on world events.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tiffany Chow, Dr. Anne Braun, Dr. Courtney Field and their staff as well as the dedicated professionals at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their care and support.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Oakville when all can gather safely.  In memory of Doug, donations to Acclaim Health, for the new Dementia Care Centre, Oakville would be greatly appreciated by the family.
