With deep sadness, after her 5 year courageous struggle with cancer, we announce the passing of Doreen Simpson, with her loving family by her side, at OTMH in Oakville, on Saturday, June 9, 2007, in her 70th year. Beloved wife of Kirk for 49 wonderful years, and devoted and loved mother of Linda (Paul), Bonnie (Michael) and Kelly (Ivan). Cherished Gramma to Adam and Jenna Culumovic, and Hayley, Hannah and Hayden Yurgan. Sadly missed by her mother Christina Crick, her loved sister Shirley Roberto (Wally) and her dear Aunt Anne Gabrielli and family. Fondly remembered always by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and 32 nieces and nephews. Doreen was a co-founding member of the Marian Ladies in Oakville, the wives chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Her greatest accomplishment and joy was being a Mother and a Gramma. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and neighbours. Special thanks for the loving care from her dear friends Anell Francis and Carol Kirkwood, and for the exceptional care from all her nurses at OTMH. Thanks to Dr. Mary Zamora and a special thanks for Dr. Bruce Gay for their care over the years. Visitation will take place Sunday, June 17th at Kopriva Taylor Funeral home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West (1 block east of Kerr St., 905-844-2600) in Oakville, from 2 to 4 pm, and 7 to 9 pm. Parish prayers at 8:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds St., Oakville on Monday, June 18th at 10am. But when we saw you sleeping, so peacefully free from pain, we could not wish you back, to suffer that again. "We love you Mom".
