IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald
Jeffrey
February 28, 1928 – January 20, 2022
This much loved and respected man has died content that his long and rewarding life had served its purpose and he could now leave with many happy thoughts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Jean(nee Winter), his children: Richard (Jeanette), Jennifer (Lloyd), and Mark (Charis); grandchildren David, Jonathan, Gordon, Imogen and Alistair; and great-grandchildren Elliot and Oliver. He was predeceased by his brother Roy (Robin).
Don was born nearly 94 years ago in a beautiful stone house on the farm of his parents, Frank and Helen Jeffrey(nee Denyes), located on the Wallbridge Rd, just north west of Belleville.
Don actually was one of those children who had to walk 2 miles through snowbanks to attend a 1-room school house. He loved playing games in the barns and countryside, hunting woodchucks, raising chickens, visiting family, swimming at Oak Lake and attending dances.
After graduating from Belleville Collegiate with a full scholarship, he went on to earn an Honours degree in Science (Bacteriology) from the University of Toronto, (OAC campus, Guelph). In the autumn of 1949, he met his bride-to-be at a dance and married her in July 1951. They both loved dancing, always being first on the floor and continued to dance til the end.
Following graduation Don held sales and management positions at two major drug Companies until 1967 when he acquired a small diagnostic supplies distributor and grew the sales and product lines to the point where the company attracted the interest of an international company and so it was sold in1980. He then started a consulting company and was able to spend more time on his special interests including ancestry research, travel, philosophy, theosophy, investments and writing children's stories and poetry. Summers were spent at the cottage and fall through winter weekends and holidays at the farm near Warkworth with co-owners and lifelong friends, Vic and Joan Jensen. Don and Donna lived at Forestwood Drive, Oakville from 1961 to 2021. Don was remarkable for his many accomplishments, work ethic, abilities and unshakeable will to succeed at everything he set his mind to.
At the end he only wanted everyone to know that he loved you.
