IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald George
Bryck
February 25, 1942 – August 23, 2021
Donald George Bryck, born in Toronto Ontario on February 25, 1942 to Madeline Cecil (nee Hopps) and Herbert Russell Bryck passed away peacefully at Creek Way Village August 23, 2021 at the age of 79. Dad bravely battled vascular disease and Lewy Body dementia. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Judith Anne (nee Holsey), who was taken by cancer in 2006 and his first-born son Kevin John, who died tragically in 1980 at the age of 20. Surviving children Steven Howard (Brenda), Heidi Anne, James Aaron, and Heather Robyne will miss him dearly along his beloved grandchildren Dawn, Stephanie, Natasha, Elysia, Leighann, Nickolas, Meagan, and Jaxson. His great-grandchildren, Eli, Violet, Nate, Audrey, Jack, and Charlotte never failed to make him smile and he would want you all to carry on his kooky ways! Siblings include Russell (pre-deceased) Nancy (pre-deceased), Robert (Elaine), Grant (Linda), Nan Lizon and many nieces and nephews. Mom and Dad met at the Salvation Army - both teaching Sunday school, he in Port Credit, her in Oakville, and were married as soldiers on August 1, 1959. Dad worked as an automotive mechanic, where he greeted everyone with a warm smile and as a dear friend. He particularly enjoyed wood-working, the fruits of which will be treasured for decades to come, and helping his wife, Judy with her beautiful crafting for the church and for the family. In his retirement, Dad truly enjoyed volunteering at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum where he helped with the restoration of the Avenger – which we hope will fly for the first time this year; you can be sure he will be watching from above! Dad and the entire family would like to sincerely thank Gloria for her help, care and love for Dad. In recent years Gloria has gracefully managed her share of antics caring for Dad and has truly been an angel the family will be forever grateful for. The staff at Creek Way Village are exceptional and have heroically cared for our loved ones through these unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic – Thank you for the courage, patience, strength and love you put in to your work. Dad would want you all to remember, "be good – and if you can't be good, be really really bad"! It was his wish to have no service, just "get a case of beer and raise one to Don and Judy". Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place. If you wish, memorial donations to the Salvation Army or the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum would be appreciated.
