Peacefully on Tuesday May 19, 2026 in Oakville with his family by his side. Don, beloved husband of Loretta. Loving father of Heidi McMeekan. Devoted Grandpa of Cassie and Josh. He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family.

Don had a passion for flying - having started his pilot career at age 15 with Air Cadets, then served with the RCAF. In his civilian life he was a pilot with Air Canada for 37 years. The culmination of his experience led to his role as Chief Captain of the Lancaster Bomber with the Canadian Warplane Heritage.

In retirement, Don and Loretta travelled and spent time in Florida. Most recently Don was involved with a group at the Roseland Club known as "The Rogues." Don thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie.

If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Warplane Heritage in Don's memory would be appreciated by the family.
