Dolores Lorraine Guthrie (nee Davey) went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2023.  She was the eldest daughter of the late Lindsay and Gladys Davey of Dundas, ON.  She was predeceased by her husband John Guthrie and her first born John Douglas Guthrie.  She was also predeceased by her sister Gladys Pyke of Woodinville, WA, and her brother David Davey of Hamilton.  She is survived by her children Deborah (Don), Scott (Michelle), Carolyn (David) and Anne (Wayne) and nine grandchildren Andrew (Mary), Sarah, Rachel, Bethany, Mitchell, Matthew, Noah, Hannah and Leah, and three great-grandchildren, Adalee, Holly and Heidi.

Dolores graduated from Hamilton Teachers College and Royal Hamilton College of Music where she obtained her ARCT.  She taught in Hamilton, Scarborough, Preston and Oakville and for most of her career was a teacher with the Halton Board of Education teaching  kindergarten. Dolores lived out her faith.  She spent much of her life serving through her church playing the organ, piano, singing in choirs, knitting for charities, visiting the sick and a host of other ministries at Calvary Baptist Church of Oakville and later Compass Point Bible Church of Burlington.  Dolores was always ready to help someone in need and lend a listening ear and she will be remembered for her kind, caring spirit and sense of humour.

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 2, 2023 from 7 pm – 8:30 pm at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville.  Funeral Service will be held on Friday March 3, 2023 in the funeral home chapel at 11 am.  Interment at Grove Cemetery, Dundas.

Many thanks to the staff at Post Inn Village who were wonderful in their care for her.  Also, many thanks to neighbours, friends and caregivers who were there for her.  Donations in remembrance of Dolores can be made to Compass Point Bible Church or SickKids Foundation .
