It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diann Rigg, who left us after a brief illness on Sept 23 2024 at the age of 91.
Survived by her daughters Carolyn, Nancy, Janice (Murray Spackman) and two brothers Bob (Cathy) and Wayne (Jerry) Predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years Doug Rigg and brother Glenn Hogaboam.
Diann was born May 18 1933 on a farm near Brockville, where she developed her passion for music. Which led her to the University of Toronto where she received her Degree in Performance Singing from the Royal Conservatory of Music in 1973. She spent her working life teaching music in Public Schools & Privately. Diann was very proud of the Elementary School Bands she organized and conducted over many years through many competitions. She was a long time member and multi term President of the Retired Women Teachers Ontario, her efforts earned her the prestigious Cora Bailey Award in 2008. Her work included organizing events such as her signature themed backyard Pool Parties which will be remembered fondly by all who attended.
Diann called Oakville home for 60 years and was very active in the Community, her efforts gained her recognition through nominations and awards such as the Oakville Spirit Award in 2006. Also, Diann was a very prominent member in Hopedale Presbyterian Church, as a Social Leader and the Choir Master. She continued her active, social lifestyle into retirement. Traveling with her husband was a big part of her busy schedule. They traveled extensively to many Countries There is no Memorial Service. The Family appreciates Privacy during this sad time.
