DIANE ISOBELL FARROW
It is with great sadness that we announce that Diane Isobell Farrow (née Adams) passed away peacefully December 10, 2021, with her loving husband of 63 years, George by her side after a short stay at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her children, Mark (Cynthia, Lorraine Rohm), Tye (Eileen), and Grant. Diane will be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren, Adam, Conor, Brendan, Caroline, and Julia.
Diane and George both grew up in Oakville where they met at high school. Diane was the Prom Queen and George the football team quarterback.
George and his twin brother Grant both married their high school sweethearts, Diane and Jill (née Weatherstone) who were best friends.
Diane was very close to George's brother Milt and his wife Mary and all her nieces and nephews.
Diane joins her sister Joan Christensen and Howard, and her parents George and Isobell (née Duncan) Adams in the company of our Lord.
Diane had a strong faith and sense of community. She was involved in the Knox Church Chancel Guild for over 50 years and looked forward each year to decorating the chancel, nave and narthex for Christmas and Easter. She was a long-standing member of the May Court Club of Oakville where she volunteered at their Nearly New Shop. She also volunteered for over 25 years at the ConnectCare Service of OTMH as well as knitting many items to be donated to newborns at the hospital.
Diane will be missed by her many close friends in the Oakville community, many who had been with her since high school. Her elegance and style will be noticeably missed at the many annual events she attended or hosted.
Her warm and loving smile and generous heart has left an indelible mark on all she met.
The family has held a private service to commend her to God's hands. A celebration of life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church Oakville in May 2022 where her ashes will be interred in the adjacent Knox Memorial Garden and Farrow Cloister, with a reception to follow. Details will be released closer to the date.
At Diane's request, no flowers, donations can be made in her name to Knox Presbyterian Church Oakville, New Roads Project, or the Rotary Club of Oakville, RCO Foundation.
