A dawn is an awakening.
Our Dawn awoke on August 8th, 1961. Her sunset was on July 10th, 2023, surrounded by family.
Mom was a brave independent mother who raised two amazing children: Alexandra and Lucas, whom were her main live-in supports throughout this journey with her illness.
Dawn leaves behind her children, her mother Phyllis, predeceased father Edward, her brother Ted, and sisters Lynn (Mike), Karen and Julie (Dan). Along with family, Dawn leaves behind many other close relatives, friends, and colleagues.
Her colleagues and friends would say she was very energetic, creative, giving, a team player, a good friend and full of heart. Dawn had several careers in her lifetime, she was a lifeguard, a swim instructor, a Child and Youth worker and a registered ECE. Along with being passionate about work, Dawn loved to canoe, camp, hike, ski, snowshoe, and all things outdoors. She was a huge advocate for outdoor play and loose parts, always finding a way to reuse and repurpose the simplest of items for children's learning and development.
