Daniel Joseph born March 9 th , 1929. Predeceased by his sister Dorothy Rozario, brother Benjamin Joseph, and son Derrick Joseph. Survived by his spouse of 67 years, Barbara Shamim Joseph. His children, Maria Dennis (Dennis), Denzil Joseph (Suzanna), Dennis Joseph (Doreen), Desmond Joseph (Robina), Marian Salik (Tim Suhail), Noreen Donaldson (Richard), Moreen Salik, Marleen Din (Mushir), and David Joseph. His 23 grandchildren who had the pleasure of growing up with Daniel around: Sharoon, Shaleen, Sara, Hanook, Andrew, Aashima, Kiran, Rashna, Bryan, Hannah, Maryam, Maya, Mahnoor, Christeen, Neressa, Elysa, Jessica, Daniyal, Karen, Adam, Michelle, Ryna, and Liana. He was beyond blessed to meet his 5 great-grandchildren: Gia, Yana, Lara, Anaya, and Isaiah. He was a beloved father, husband, and teacher to his family and all those that he met.
Daniel was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan where he completed 50 years of service as a teacher and later, as a principal of St. John's Vianney High School in Peshawar, Pakistan. He was, for all those in the St. John's community, an inspiration and a connector to God. A charismatic leader, humble philanthropist, and devoted parishioner, Daniel set an example for many who had the good fortune of meeting him.
Daniel gave his time to his parish and community as well as love, support, and guidance to his family. He was an active member of community at John R. Rhodes Seniors Residence where he will be deeply missed by all his friends.
He passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on the morning of Thursday, November 29 th , 2018 at the age of 89 surrounded by his family.
The family thanks the staff of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their care and support and their caregivers at John R. Rhodes Seniors Residence over the past few years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 7 th , 2018 from 2pm - 4pm and 7pm - 9pm at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, ON.
Funeral will take place on Saturday, December 8 th , 2018 10am at St. James Parish, 231 Morden Road, Oakville, ON. Followed by burial at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga, ON. Reception for Celebration of Life to follow at Oakville Banquet Halls - Columbus Hall, 1494 Wallace Road, Oakville, ON.
