It's with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel, on Monday, March 31, 2008 peacefully with his family by his side. Beloved husband and soul mate of Ellen (Kurmey) for 29 years, devoted father to Spencer and Fraser. Loving son of John and Helen (Novak) and brother to Debra (Roger) Vamplew, Patrick and Edward. Proud Godfather and uncle to Kendra Vamplew, loving uncle to Sam Vamplew, Nicole and Meredith Blackburn. Predeceased by grandmother Eva Novak and mother-in-law Bea Kurmey. Sadly missed by Auntie Lee, Brian Barker and Karen Vamplew. To Cindy, Graham and their children, Maggie and Riley, Christopher and John for their love and friendship. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jane Aldridge for her compassionate ongoing care for Dan, Ellen and the boys. To the many friends and co-workers at Primus and Avotus and for the kindness and care from the ladies of Ian Anderson House, we are especially grateful. Special thanks to the Oncology Team at Credit Valley Cancer Centre, Dr. L. Kaiser and Shelley DeHay-Turner for her support and friendship. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville, (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday. A Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate Dan's life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008 at Knox Sixteen Presbyterian Church, 1150 Dundas Street West, Oakville. Cremation to follow.
