IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dagmar
Duncan
September 11, 1941 – June 13, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved wife, mother and grandmother Dagmar Duncan. Dagmar passed peacefully at Luther Village, Waterloo.
Dagmar Erna Duncan (née Westermann) was born in Reichenbach Germany on September 11, 1941 to parents Erna Westermann (née Schneider) and Herman Westermann.
After leaving East Germany in the 1950s, Dagmar moved to Hagen, Germany where she learned the bookbinding trade.
Seeking opportunity, and guided by a sense of adventure, Dagmar moved to Canada in 1963.
After a short time, Dagmar met and married William Duncan and the two settled in Oakville Ontario and raised their three children.
Despite working and raising a family, Dagmar's wanderlust remained unabated and her travels saw her traverse the globe, including visiting all seven continents.
Memories and friendships were forged through her memberships in skiing and hiking clubs.
Dagmar's respect for nature, commitment to her family and friends, and her willingness to try new things throughout her life serves as inspiration for us all.
Dagmar is survived by her husband William, and children Herman (Roberta), Marion (Tim) and Andrea (Mohsan), as well as grandchildren Maximillian, Tobias, Sabina, Alexandra and Ava.
Greatly loved and forever missed.
