IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Colin Frederick
Cunningham
April 17, 1957 – April 20, 2015
On April 20, 2015, a gentle and kind soul was taken from us to a "land that is fairer than day". Colin Frederick Cunningham was born in Oakville, Ontario, on April 17, 1957, the son of the late Fred and Barbara (Sweetland) Cunningham and brother to the late Gail (Leon Honibal).
Colin's career in graphic arts and design spanned many years. Later he worked for Data Media (Coverall Printing House). Colin was a military historian and an avid collector of miniatures, especially Britain's figures, and partnered with James Shakely for 20 years under the name of Queen Victoria's Enterprises. Colin loved reading military and historical works and gathered an extensive library. He loved the arts and listened to classical, rhythm and blues, and rock music, following the lives of the artists with intensity. He attended many live rock concerts and jazz festivals, and became a collector of artists' memorabilia. Colin had a personal relationship with Jesus his Savior and spent time listening to the old-time gospel hymns.
Colin will be sadly missed by his loving wife and sweetheart of 17 years, Susan Galbraith, his three step-children, Andrew (Carolyn), Matthew (Corin), and Terrie Diane (Ken Orr), and his grandchildren Liam James, 8 and Cate Amelie, 6. He is also survived by his brothers Graham (Dord) and Eric (Wanda) and sister Glynis and nieces Lianne, Meagan and Rebecca, as well as many close friends and colleagues.
Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home , 64 Lakeshore Road West, (one block east of Kerr) 905-844-2600, Oakville on Saturday, April 25, 2015
from 3-5 and 7-9. A funeral to commemorate Colin's life will be held at 11:00 a.m.
