Obituary

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Colin Crane of Oakville, Ontario, at age 84. He is survived by wife of 57 years, Brigitte (Primavesi), daughter Christina, son-in-law David (Groth), grand-daughters Gillian and Gemma, daughters Angela and Susan, sisters Marjorie and June and brother, Robert and their families. Immigrating to Canada in 1958 from England with his Austrian bride, he settled in Montreal for the next 20 years before moving to Ontario. His career as a mechanical engineer and executive with Sandvik took him around the world many times including 4 privileged years in Yokohama, Japan. He retired in 1994 after 35 years of service. A championship table tennis player from humble beginnings in Nottingham, England, Colin fancied himself an athlete, dabbling in soccer, rugby, cricket, tennis and finally golf, well into his retirement years. Anyone who ever met Colin at whatever stage in his life will never forget him. He left a lasting impression on people with his wit, humour, and positive outlook on life. His family would like to sincerely thank the PSW's from OSCAR and Sunrise of Oakville for their patience and care, as well as Dr Danielle Bremermann for her genuine compassion and exceptional support through his illness.

Family and friends are welcome to a memorial visitation at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, Monday, July 11, 2016 from 4 to 7pm.

Donations in Colin's memory in lieu of flowers may be made to Acclaim Health or the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.
