IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Claudia Maria
Barbara Murphy
October 3, 1957 – July 17, 2023
With heavy heart, we announce the passing of Claudia Maria Barbara Murphy on July 17, 2023, at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) after a courageous battle with cancer she wished to keep largely private. She was a strong, positive, talented and elegant woman that touched the lives of many.
Claudia was born in Ludwigshafen Am Rhein, Germany. Her love of adventure lead to her to immigrate to Canada in 1981. She married the love of her life, Shawn, in 1990 and had three wonderful children, Shelley, Brendan and Ciara whom she treasured and was immensely proud of. She leaves behind her brothers, Fabian and Markus, and her sister, Sandra, her nieces, Amelie and Claire, and many beloved in-laws and nieces and nephews on her husband's side.
Claudia worked as a dental hygienist in Oakville for over thirty years and brightened the smiles of many from Oakville. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed building trusted relationships with her clients. Claudia was a talented soprano who loved singing and shared her musical talents at the Oakville Choral concerts, and in song graced the choir stalls of a number of beautiful churches in Oakville over many years. Claudia had a signature hair style of natural curls that could not be missed and could often be seen working out in the gyms in Oakville. She loved strolls along the lake and in the parks in Oakville each season. Claudia made friends in all of her activities, and loved going for coffee with friends and family. Claudia was a people person of deep-seated faith and strength. She radiated enthusiasm, and she loved engaging people with her energetic spirit.
We invite all who have been fortunate enough to share moments with Claudia to join us as we commemorate her life. The family thanks the OTMH, Princess Margaret Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the OTMH , Princess Margaret Hospital , Toronto Western Hospital or the charity of your choice.
