Devoted Wife, Mother, and Dancer "Pat" Scott, beloved wife and mother, and life-long dancer passed away Tuesday, May 24 at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Oakville, ON, due to complications from pneumonia. She was 91. Born on July 5, 1919 in New Bradwell, England to parents, Alfred E. and Phoebe Thompson, Mrs. Scott had an unwavering love of dance, which led to a professional dance career in London, England. At age 17 she joined the famed John Tiller Girls and spent the early years of World War II on the stage. In 1943, Mrs. Scott married her first husband, Lancaster bomber pilot Flight Lieutenant Keith Lefroy of Oakville. Sadly the marriage lasted only six weeks. His plane was shot down over Ter Apel during the liberation of Holland. Mrs. Scott subsequently left the stage to serve as a lance-corporal in Britain's Army Territorial Service (ATS). In 1946, Mrs. Scott came to Canada on the ship Aquitania to meet the Lefroy family. On September 24, 1949, with the blessing of the Lefroys, she married the late Murray Davidson Scott, founder of Scott Transport, and her beloved husband of 51 years. The Scotts had residences in Oakville ON, Meaford ON, and Naples FL. Mrs. Scott helped found The Cabaret, a variety show at The Oakville Club, and volunteered as dance choreographer for 40 years. Mrs. Scott is survived by daughters Deborah Scott (D. Munroe Eagles), Elizabeth Scott (Robert Strickland), Mary Caroline "Kelly" Scott (Mark Chechalk), and grandchildren Katherine and Scott More, Hilary Scott-Row, and Brinley Varricchio (Guido), Alannah and Madeline Hunt, and great grandchild Olivia Varricchio. She was a loving step-mother to Anne Brymer and her family.
